Does your bikini top make you feel smaller? Do you wish there is something you could do to give yourself a more prominent cleavage every time you hit the pool? Well. You can. If you don’t want to buy a new padded or pushup bikini, you can add some padding to your existing swimwear.

The catch is you have to do it right or you risk the added padding falling off when least expected causing an embarrassing scene. Here’s how to do it.

For this DIY project you will need:

  • Access to a sewing machine

Using Lycra Fabric and Bra Pads

  • Lay a fourth of a yard of lycra fabric on a surface and your unpadded bikini top on it
  • Trace the shape of the bikini cups over the lyrca using a fabric pencil
  • Cut out the bikini cups from the lycra
  • Place the bra pads at the center of the bikini’s breast cups and lay the lycra on top of them
  • Use some sewing pins to hold the pad and lycra in place
  • Sew in the lining using a straight stitch on the sewing machine
  • Remove the pins after sewing and your swimsuit is ready to wear! – as long as its matching bottoms are not saggy.

Be keen on the stitching as this is what will keep the bra pads in place. If you don’t have access to a sewing machine and are good at hand stitching, you can use a good stitch along the edge to hold everything in place neatly.
